Pelargonium glutinosum

A tall shrub with beautiful pastel pink flowers & darker markings on the upper petals, each flowering stalk has about 1-8 flowers. The leaves are balsam  scented sticky & palmately lobed, triangular in shape. P. glutinosum is a tall upright branching slightly woody shrub which grows to about 100 cm/39 in in height and prefers slightly moist soil conditions. It is ideal for large pots & containers, in herb/fragrant gardens and gardens with water features. The botanical name “glutinosum” originates from the Latin word gluten meaning glue referring to the sticky leaves of this plant.

Pelargonium glutinosum is a tall upright branching slightly woody shrub that grows to about 100 cm (39 inches) in height, The dark green sticky, palmately lobed, triangular leaves have a sweet balsam scent and pastel pink flowers with darker markings on the upper petals, each flowering stalk contains 1-8 flowers.

This plant is native to the Western Cape in various habitats which contains three different forms P. glutinosum, it grows near moving water in moist conditions and on mountainsides with Summer & Winter rainfall, heavy rain in some areas.

Pelargonium glutinosum prefers sandy/loam soil conditions (PH.acid/neutral) in full sun and is ideal for large pots & containers,in herb/fragrant gardens and gardens with water features.
